Working Students Program

We are currently accepting applications to for our weekday position.  See below for details.

Our working student program allows riders to perform farm chores in exchange for lessons, training, and sometimes discounted board.  Duties include feeding, mucking stalls, grooming, and other general maintenance. By participating in our program, riders are given the opportunity to learn responsibility, self-confidence, and dedication, as well as other areas of the equine industry.  Some of the additional topics we cover include:

Barn Management Breeding
Feeds & Forages Mare & Foal Care
Breaking & Training Show Judging
Client-Trainer Relations Ethics in training & selling

Students can also be eligible for additional riding time & showing of sale horses.

Eligibility: Prospective students must be dependable, hard working, honest, and have reliable transportation. You will be required to fill out an application as well as interview for any available positions.  Some experience with horses is preferred; spots for beginner riders are limited. The minimum age requirement is 18, although we have taken younger riders that are very ambitious. 

If you are under 18, your parents will have to sign off that they allow you to work and that they understand their responsibility as the method of transportation.


Now Available: Weekday Position

M-F in the mornings

Applicants must be 18+ with horse experience required.  Duties include mucking, light maintenance, grooming, and some prep for lessons. Compensation includes weekly lessons, some pay or discount on board, and a chance to learn tons about the equine industry: breaking & training, sales, client relations, ethics, judging, show management, etc.  May also include catch rides & showing opportunities for the right person.
